Mayor Joy Belmonte and Team QC visit Singapore’s BLOCK71, a world renown startup incubator and accelerator, initiated by the National University of Singapore (NUS Enterprise), Singtel Innov8 and Media Development Authority of Singapore.
Now with nine incubation centers, BLOCK71 serves as a launchpad for startups by offering resources, mentorship, and networking opportunities. It also connects companies with corporations, institutions, and government agencies to establish strategic partnerships.
In 2022, Quezon City launched its StartUp QC program that supports existing early-stage startups by giving free mentorship sessions, industry exposure, and networking events. A total of 10 QC-based start ups has received financial grant of P1 million each.
Recently, under the StartUp QC Student Competition, the city awarded 27 student teams that submitted business pitches on sustainability, health, education, agriculture, and governance.
Mayor Belmonte is joined by Local Economic Investment and Promotions Office (LEIPO) Chief Jay Gatmaitan and Climate Change and Environmental Sustainability Department (CCESD) Education Division Chief Lea Siy Gaon.
