The 2nd day of the Strategic Learning Program in London, United Kingdom continues to equip Quezon City councilors with essential tools and knowledge to tackle local development challenges.
The program aims to inspire innovative governance solutions tailored to the unique context of Quezon City with the help of renowned partner institutions such as Oxford University, the Worcester College of Oxford University, and the School of Governance and Diplomacy of the College of Saint Benilde.
The Quezon City Council was hosted at King’s College in London for their Day 2 which focused on effective policy formulation and advancements in local governance.
Sessions included the presentation of Dr. Andrew Brooks, Deputy Head of Department, Geography, School of Global Affairs at King’s College London, who discussed approaches to evidence-based local economic development.
It also featured Dr. Alex Apeagyei from the Department of Engineering and Construction, School of Architecture, Computing and Engineering, University of East London. His discussion focused on innovative approaches to urban planning and addressed transportation issues critical to shaping future cities.
The program was organized by the Quezon City Council in partnership with the Washington Global Institute (WGI), headed by Majority Floor Leader Councilor Dorothy Delarmente MD and WGI President Dr. Tahir Shad.
