Mahigit sa 70 kinatawan mula sa lokal na pamahalaan ng Tagaytay City, Silang, Cavite, at Quezon City ang naging bahagi ng “Indigenous Vegetables: Preference of Urban Consumers and Producers” workshop ngayong araw.

Layon nitong malaman ang opinyon at kagustuhan ng consumers at stakeholders patungkol sa proyekto ng urban farmers, at kung paano sila makakapagbigay ng suporta at tulong.

Pinag-usapan ang mga neglected and underutilized vegetables (NUV) na maaaring maitanim sa urban farms upang masolusyunan ang problema sa food security.

Nag-ikot din ang participants sa Sunnyville Farm kung saan pinag-aralan nila ang mga gulay na nakatanim dito na maaaring gayahin ng ibang urban cities at municipalities.

Pupunta rin sila sa Silang, Cavite upang malaman ang best practices ng lungsod.

Nabuo ang programa sa pagtutulungan ng Quezon City Government, International Institute of Rural Reconstruction (IIRR), at Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) Resilient Cities Initiatives.
