Pangkabuhayang QC is a livelihood training and capital assistance program that was initially created as an economic recovery program by the city in view of the rise of the number of displaced workers during the height of the pandemic. This program is open to microentrepreneurs/vendors, unemployed solo parents, PWDs, returning OFWs, and completers of livelihood/entrepreneurship training programs. Capital assistance in the amount of PHP 10,000 to PHP 20,000 is then given to the approved beneficiaries based on the business plan attached to their application form. Once approved, they undergo a short training and networking session with various government and private partners such as DTI, Go Negosyo, San Miguel Food Corporation, GCash, Cebuana Lhuillier, Rebisco Food Corporation as well as banking partners like Unionbank and RCBC who provide different business opportunities for the approved beneficiaries. 

POP QC showcases the artistry and innovation of City-honed products through trade shows, bazaars, and exhibits, providing a local market-access platform for MSECs in Quezon City.

POP QC KOLAB: Community of Local Artisans and Designers 

The POP QC KOLAB is an initiative that seeks to match famous local fashion designers with local community artisans of Quezon City. Quezon City is a melting pot of many different industries showcasing different types of Filipino artistry through various materials like scrap fabric, indigenous weaves, homemade leather, beads, and the like. These are run by women in various vulnerable sectors in the community that seek help in upgrading their products and seek various collaborations with up-and-coming and established local Filipino fashion designers.

Since it first started in 2019, QC Fresh Market has been supporting rural and urban farmers’ livelihoods by providing regular opportunities to sell their fresh farm produce, goods, and products directly to consumers, promoting the farm-to-consumer model, and ensuring sellers keep all the profits. The regular operations of QC Fresh Market have been split into two setups: the original weekend market setup at Quezon Memorial Circle, and the payday market setup at Quezon City Hall.

QC Essentials provides product training and livelihood opportunities for different vulnerable sectors (PWDs, solo parents, informal workers) in our communities to be able to earn and start their own micro business. What started as an economic recovery program for the unemployed due to forced community restrictions, this program has expanded into our very own QC Brand – from everyday household essential products like alcohol and soap to handcrafted pillows, bracelets, and necklaces. QC Essentials is proudly made in QC, made by QCitizens.

The Kyusi Nights: Christmas Bazaar/Night Market is a seasonal/roving bazaar conducted by the SBCDPO upon request by the different barangays in the city. The bazaar will house all the different entrepreneurs in the respective barangays and showcase their local community products as well as famous food from local eateries and online sellers. Barangays may coordinate with SBCDPO for the planning and implementation of the market.

The Capability Building Program for QC Cooperatives is designed to facilitate the development of the cooperatives sector in the city with the goal of enabling these entities to take active roles in shaping the financial security of their members and the communities where they operate. Specifically, this program helps facilitate the registration of interested livelihood groups and engages with existing cooperatives by extending technical assistance, in collaboration with the Cooperative Development Authority, such as trainings, marketing/promotion activities, and compliance with the requirements of regulatory agencies.

WEEKLY COOP CLINIC

The Weekly Coop Clinic is a regular consultation mechanism designed to provide assessments, guidance and technical assistance to existing cooperatives as well as groups who wish to be registered as cooperatives. 

PRE-REGISTRATION SEMINAR (PRS)

The Pre-Registration Seminar, done in collaboration with the Cooperative Development Authority, aims to educate the founding cooperators in the formation of their cooperatives, the duties and responsibilities of the officers and management, and procedures for the compliance of the documentary requirements that will provide the members of the cooperatives the technical knowledge on the operation of the cooperatives. 

COOPERATIVES JOB FAIR 

The Cooperatives Job Fair is an event organized in partnership with the Cooperative Development Authority, Department of Labor and Employment, and the Union of Legitimate Service Contracting Cooperatives to invite job seekers to work in the cooperatives sector. 

QC COOP TRADE FAIR

The annual QC Coop Trade Fair, held every National Cooperative Month in October, showcases the best cooperatives in the city and their unique and innovative products and services to promote and support the livelihoods of our partner cooperatives.

Digital Beauty Academy (DBA) is a three-month influencer training program in partnership with SPARK Philippines, the L’Oréal Group, and Tiktok Philippines that aims to provide earning opportunities and social inclusion for vulnerable QCitizens. This training program utilizes the power of beauty, education, and digital as enablers of livelihood. QCitizens of all genders are welcome to apply. Beneficiaries are trained for 3 months to become micro-influencers and, in particular, know how to build their own brand online, establish their following as influencers, and earn from transactions clicked from their pages.

Under the USAID Opportunity 2.0 program, the Education Development Center partnered with the Quezon City Government to launch the Be Your Own Boss – QC Youth Entrepreneurship Program. The program aims to equip the out-of-school youth (OSY) sector of Quezon City with the necessary skills that they can utilize to gain more opportunities for employment.
