ABOUT US
Description
The QCU, formerly known as the Quezon City Polytechnic University, came into existence on March 1, 1994, by virtue of the City Council Ordinance No. SP-171. The institution was created to undertake skilled workers’ training in response to the manpower requirement by industry and business establishments within the city. The organization of the Polytechnic as a local government educational institution included the old Skills and Training Center. The QCP established its reputation among local government units as a show window and model technology-based institution, paving the way for its recognition by the Technical Education Skills and Development Authority (TESDA) and developing a strong alliance with the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).

UNIVERSITY REGISTRAR’S DIVISION
QCU COLLEGE ADMISSION TEST APPLICATION AND ADMISSION PROCEDURE
This procedure applies to all applicants of the Quezon City University College Admission Test (QCUCAT).
READMISSION (RETURNEE) PROCEDURE
This service is given to approved returning students (old students of QCU who were Officially Dropped (OD) in the previous semester, those who were not enrolled last semester, and those who wish to return this coming semester) who have submitted complete re-admission requirements.
ENROLLMENT OF FRESHMEN STUDENTS
This service is given to freshmen students who passed the QCUCAT, have successfully undergone the interview of their respective College Deans, and have submitted complete admission requirements.
ENROLLMENT FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS
This service is given to transfer students who passed the interview of their respective College Deans and have submitted the complete admission requirements.
ENROLLMENT FOR RETURNING STUDENTS
This service is given for approved returning students and submitted complete readmission requirements.
ENROLLMENT FOR CONTINUING OLD STUDENTS
This service is provided for old students of the various colleges who were enrolled or who were Unofficially Dropped (UD) last semester.
REQUEST FOR TRANSCRIPT OF RECORD (TOR)
The transcript of records of the student is released upon the student’s request and clearance by the university, and payment of the TOR.
ISSUANCE OF STUDENTS RECORDS
This service is given to students requesting for their Academic Records.
DROPPING OF SUBJECTS (ONLINE)
This service is given to officially enrolled students in a given semester who wish to officially drop some of their enrolled subjects. The last day of dropping of subjects is one week before the start of the midterm examinations.
APPLICATION FOR GRADUATION (ONLINE)
This service is given to graduating students who have completed or who are expected to complete the required units of their degree in their last semester. Application period starts one (1) month after the 2nd semester‘s 1st day of classes and ends after 10 working days.
ACCOUNTING DIVISION
The Accounting Division accepts payments of Tuition and Miscellaneous Fees of students not covered by the CHED UniFAST grant, QC Youth Development Office grants, or otherscholarship grants.

PAYMENT FOR TRANSCRIPT OF RECORDS (AFTER FIRST COPY)
The office accepts payments for requests of issuance of Transcript of Records (TOR).
APPLICATION FOR TUITION FEE REFUND OF SCHOLARS/STUDENTS WITH OVERPAYMENT
The office processes requests for refund of overpayment of tuition fees.
SCHOLARSHIP, PLACEMENT, AND ALUMNI RELATIONS DIVISION
The scholarship office plays a role in managing and overseeing scholarships and financial/educational assistance. They help students to apply, ensure eligibility criteria are met, provide support to recipients, and contribute to a more accessible and equitable education system.
CHED – UNIFAST FREE HIGHER EDUCATION (FHE)
QCU is an institution recognized by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and those qualified enrolled students enjoy free tuition, miscellaneous, and other school fees.
CHED – UNIFAST TERTIARY EDUCATION SUBSIDY (TES)
Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) is a grant-in-aid program under R.A. No. 10931 (UAQTE) which provides financial assistance to deserving students in tertiary education.
The Free Higher Education (FHE) Scholars in Quezon City University are eligible to apply for Tertiary Education Subsidy financial assistance.
QUEZON CITY YOUTH DEVELOPMENT OFFICE (QCYDO) FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE
The Quezon City Youth Development Office (QCYDO) provides financial assistance programs specifically designated to support QCU students, aiming to alleviate financial burdens and promote educational opportunities for the youth in the community.

GOOD MORAL CHARACTER CERTIFICATE ONLINE REQUEST
The University Guidance Office offers Certification of Good Moral Character for currently enrolled students and students who have graduated from the university.
STUDENTS UNDER ACADEMIC PROBATION
Students with grade deficiency will be referred under academic probation. This is a time in which they must improve their academic standing by meeting or making evident progress toward their school academic performance.
COUNSELLING
The Guidance and Counseling Unit aims to promote mental health awareness and well-being by providing counseling services.

LIBRENG TUITION
It has been ensured that University students will receive free tuition and assistance from the Unified Student Financial Assistance System for Tertiary Education or UniFAST.
UNIFAST-TERTIARY EDUCATION SUBSIDY (TES) APPLICATION FOR ACADEMIC YEAR 2021-2022
Relative to the Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) under Republic Act (RA) 10931, known as the Universal Access to Quality Tertiary Education Act, the UniFAST-Tertiary Education Subsidy (TES) Application for Academic Year 2021-2022, officially opened and ended on January 14, 2022.
DISTRIBUTION OF LAPTOPS AND POCKET WI-FI TO FRESHMEN STUDENTS
The second phase for laptop and pocket WiFi distribution was launched on the Main Campus during the third week of October 2021.
USAID – FUNDED EXECUTIVE COURSE FOR QC BARANGAY AND COMMUNITY LEADERS
Quezon City University, funded by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Opportunity 2.0 Program through the Education Development Center (EDC,) launched the Executive Course for Barangay Leaders on System Delivery Support for the Out of School Youth (QCU BLeSDS for the OSY) on November 27, 2021.
QCU BLeSDS for the OSY is a six-month executive training program designed for barangay officials, youth leaders, and community organizers including OSY ALS, and TESDA course completers to better understand the situation of the OSYs in Quezon City.

Who May Avail?
The Applicants Qualifications:
- Filipino citizen and officially enrolled at the Higher Education Institution (HEI);
- Has not been expelled from any HEI;
- Qualified under the existing admission and retention requirements of the HEIs and does not exceed the maximum residency rule;
- Taking Undergraduate courses with Certificates of Program Compliance (COPCs) in CHED-recognized Local University or College (LUC);
- Qualified under, or any other future, qualification policies that the UniFAST Board may mandate.

QCU RECEIVES ALCUCOA LEVEL II ACCREDITATION
Quezon City University’s Entrepreneurship, Information Technology, and Industrial Engineering, and Electronics Engineering programs were granted Level II Accreditation by the Association of Local Colleges and Universities Commission on Accreditation (ALCUCOA) during the second day of ALCUCOA’s 16th National Conference held on October 3, 2023, at the Manila Hotel.
Mayor Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte, together with Dr. Theresita Atienza, QCU President, Dr. Bradford Antonio Martinez, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and other officials of the University accepted the certificates on behalf of QCU. The Certificates of Accreditation, which were awarded by ALCUCOA’s President and Executive Director, Dr. Raymundo P. Arcega, and the members of the ALCUCOA Board of Trustees, proved that the three programs were found to be in accordance with ALCUCOA standards, and was issued as a result of the evaluation of the Level II Accreditation visit on September 6 to 8, 2023.
QCU PRODUCES NEW CPA’S
Quezon City University is proud of Mr. Mark Anthony Gemillan, CPA, Mr. Joshua Tivar Magno, and Ms. R.S.A., CPA for passing the October 2023 Certificate Public Accountant Licensure Examination (CPALE). With a grade of 88.17%, Mr. Gemillan also ranked Top 11 among the 2,740 CPALE passers. The QCU – College of Business Administration and Accountancy takes pride in this achievement.
QCU CELEBRATES 30TH FOUNDATION ANNIVERSARY WITH WEEK-LONG FESTIVITIES
QCU recently opened its 30th foundation anniversary with a week-long event at the San Bartolome campus, from March 1 to 8. The celebration, themed “Education for Empowerment: Transforming Communities for Sustainable Futures,” brought together university officials, faculty members, employees, and students for a series of activities that showcased the dynamic spirit of the QCU community. Activities included the blessing of the New Academic Building and the Urban Farming Learning and Innovation Center, the QCU Academic Contests, Academic Exhibits, University Intramurals 2024, QCU Bazaars, QCU-CBAA Concert, and the International Training on High-Impact University Ranking through the UN SDGs.
MAYOR JOY BELMONTE LEADS THE INAUGURATION OF QCU’S NEW ACADEMIC BUILDING AND URBAN FARM
Mayor Ma. Josefina G. Belmonte led the blessing of Quezon City University’s (QCU) new seven-story academic building and the QCU Urban Farm Innovation and Learning Center, marking the start of QCU’s 30th Foundation Anniversary. The program began with a symbolic ribbon-cutting ceremony followed by the blessing and tour of the facilities which was attended by local government officials including Cong. PM Vargas, QCU Board of Regents members Councilors Aly Medalla, Ram Medalla, and Joseph Juico, heads of departments from the QC Government, barangay and youth leaders, and special guests and partners from the national government and private sectors namely Department of Agriculture – Agricultural Training Institute who funded the Urban Farm, DA-Bureau of Plant Industry, Commission on Higher Education – National Capital Region, Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL), SP Madrid, and HytecPower Inc.
QCU SECURES SECOND USAID-EDC GRANT TO EMPOWER OSY
Quezon City University (QCU) has once again demonstrated its commitment to supporting out-of-school youth (OSY) after it secured a grant for its Expanded Executive Course for Barangay Leaders on Systems Delivery Support for Out-of-School Youth (BLeSDS for the OSY).
Organized by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) and the Educational Development Center, the grant awarding ceremony was held on February 15, 2024, at the BE Resort in Mactan, Cebu.
Hon. Julienne Alyson Rae Medalla, QC District 2 Councilor and Member of the QCU Board of Regents, received the grant on behalf of QCU, which is one of the two recipients of the Opportunity 2.0 Government-Academe-Industry Collaborative Grants for Out-of-School Youth Development (O2-GAIN Grants).
QCU BECOMES THE FIRST ITSO-ACCREDITED LOCAL UNIVERSITY
QCU was formally welcomed by the Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) as the first Local University in the country to be part of the Innovation and Technology Support Office (ITSO) 2.0 network during the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) at the Executive Lounge, Quezon City Hall on April 25, 2023.
With its accreditation, the QCU ITSO will conduct enhanced IP awareness seminars and trainings, and lead collaborative programs and activities focused on innovation and intellectual property across disciplines in the University, while also serving the IP needs of the local government as well as other sectors within the city, with the end goal of growing QCU’s IP portfolio to include filings for patent, utility models, trademarks, and industrial design.
QCU CELEBRATES ITS FIRST UNIVERSITY PARTNERS’ DAY
Quezon City University (QCU) celebrated its first-ever University Partners’ Day with the theme, “Sustainable Future, Shared Success: A Partnership for Positive Impact,” to recognize its partner industries, government agencies, communities, and urban farms. The event took place at the Auditorium, QCU Main Campus, on December 13, 2023, and was attended by a total of 60 partners, student organizations, faculty members, and University Officials.

QCU successfully participated in the APCORE-PIKSI 2023 Hybrid International Conference co-organized by the Asia-Pacific Consortium of Researchers and Educators, Inc. (APCORE) and the Politeknic Piksi Ganesha from August 29-31, 2023 at the Grand Asrilia Hotel Convention and Restaurant, Bandung, Indonesia. QCU served as one of the partner co-host institutions.
During the plenary discussion, QCU President, Dr. Theresita Atienza served as a speaker focusing on Collective Knowledge Generation and Mobilization through University-Community Partnership, specifically discussing the importance of empowering community members to actively lead the knowledge production process to build their capacity in addressing immediate community issues through a community development approach.
The theme of this year’s hybrid conference is “Sustainable Research and Education: Trajectories, Hopes, Alarms and Expectations,” drawing more than 400 on-site and 700 online participants from around 100 universities and institutions in Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, the Philippines, China, Pakistan, Bangladesh, USA, and other countries in Asia Pacific.
