Quarantine vs. Isolation

QUARANTINE:

TO BE OBSERVED BY:

  • Individuals exposed to people who tested positive for COVID-19
  • Individuals with close contact but with  no symptoms, and negative swab test

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT:

  •  They may not be suffering from any symptoms (asymptomatic) but could be carrier of the COVID-19 virus.

HOW LONG AND WHERE:

  • Fourteen (14) days from the last day of exposure.
  • Quarantine at home or at the quarantine facility of your barangay.

ISOLATION:

TO BE OBSERVED BY:

  • Individuals who are confirmed cases or those with positive swab test
  • Individuals suffering from COVID-19 symptoms
  • Individuals with close contact and experiencing symptoms of COVID-19

WHY IS IT IMPORTANT:

  • To avoid spreading the virus and infecting others.

HOW LONG AND WHERE:

  • With symptoms – Ten (10) days from the onset of symptoms
  • Without symptoms –  Ten (10) days from the swab date
